Purpose

Lead AXON's AI product portfolio — owning Neura ChatBot and the Neura Analytics team — while serving as a credible external face with customers and the broader market. The core challenge of this role is combining deep telecom domain expertise already present in the team with modern AI engineering, moving AXON's analytics technology stack decisively forward.

What the role owns

• Full product ownership and technical direction of Neura ChatBot
• Leadership of the Neura Analytics team — a group of experienced telecommunications domain experts transitioning toward AI-assisted algorithm development
• Owning the growth of the Neura Analytics team — building the right mix of AI engineering skills alongside existing telecom domain expertise, and setting the conditions for both disciplines to work effectively together
• Fostering a culture where telecom expertise and AI engineering are seen as complementary, not competing — the domain knowledge makes the AI better
• Strategic customer engagement — conversations at executive level, product demonstrations, and representation at industry events
• Contributing to AXON's broader AI narrative and market positioning

What success looks like

• Neura ChatBot grows in capability and is clearly valued by customers
• The Neura Analytics team is actively using AI in algorithm development — domain experts view AI as amplifying their expertise, not threatening it
• New AI engineers are productive, well-integrated, and working effectively with the existing team
• AXON is credibly positioned externally as a serious AI company in the telecom space, not just a feature vendor

Most important skillsets

• Proven engineering leadership at Director level or equivalent — able to lead, grow, and inspire a mixed-skill team
• Deep enough understanding of AI and ML to set technical direction and earn genuine respect from engineers
• Ability to earn trust with highly experienced domain experts who are not primarily software engineers — patience, curiosity, and humility matter here
• Strong external presence — comfortable in executive customer conversations, product demonstrations, and speaking at industry events
• Experience building teams that combine different disciplines effectively
• Telecom, networking, or enterprise software background a strong advantage
• Product ownership mindset — able to balance technical direction with market and customer needs
