The IT Engineer at Axon Networks will support and enhance the company’s global IT infrastructure across on-prem, cloud, and hybrid environments. This role will be responsible for ensuring system reliability, secure operations, high availability, and seamless collaboration across teams in Spain, the U.S., Türkiye, Denmark, and Vietnam.
The ideal candidate has strong hands-on experience in systems administration, networking, cloud platforms (GCP/AWS/Azure), and supporting engineering environments (GitLab, Jira, Confluence, CI/CD pipelines)..
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure & Systems Operations
-
Manage, maintain, and support Axon’s IT infrastructure including servers, virtual machines, cloud resources, storage, and networking components.

Provide operational support for GCP, AWS, or Azure environments, including provisioning, monitoring, troubleshooting, and security configuration.

Maintain system performance, patching, backup processes, disaster recovery, and high-availability configurations.
User & Application Support
-
Support global engineering users across multiple time zones for IT systems including GitLab, Jira, Confluence, Slack, VPN, SSO, and internal tools.

Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and access issues with timely SLA-based response.
-
Manage IAM, RBAC, and access provisioning/deprovisioning processes across systems.
Engineering & DevOps Environment Support

Support CI/CD environments, GitLab runners, package repositories, and build infrastructure.

Assist in the migration, upgrade, and consolidation of GitLab instances (on-prem → cloud/GitLab SaaS).

Support collaboration tools and integrations across engineering teams.
Security & Compliance
-
Maintain security controls including firewalls, endpoint protection, MFA, SSO, and vulnerability remediation.

Support Axon’s compliance, audit, and incident response processes.
-
Implement least-privilege access, log management, and monitoring enhancements.
-
Contribute to documentation in Confluence and maintain operational runbooks.
-
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver IT improvements and automation.
Operational Excellence
-
Monitor system health and proactively identify improvements.
-
Maintain IT inventory, licenses, and vendor relationships.
-
Support on-call rotation as needed for critical IT incidents (shared global schedule).
Qualifications
Required:
-
3–6 years of experience as an IT Engineer, Systems Administrator, or similar role.
-
Strong proficiency in Linux and Windows Server administration.
-
Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform (GCP preferred, AWS or Azure acceptable).

Solid understanding of networking fundamentals: DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, VPN, firewalls.

Experience supporting engineering tools such as GitLab, Jira, Confluence, CI/CD pipelines, or similar platforms.

Proficiency with scripting languages: Bash, PowerShell, or Python.
-
Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and monitoring skills.
-
Experience with identity and access management (IAM), RBAC, and user provisioning.

Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
-
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, globally distributed environment.
-
Customer-first mindset with commitment to SLAs and operational excellence.
-
Detail-oriented with strong documentation habits (runbooks, knowledge base, Confluence).
Preferred:
-
Experience supporting distributed global teams across multiple time zones.
-
Exposure to SSO technologies: SAML, OAuth, OpenID Connect, or Azure AD.
-
Experience with virtualization technologies: VMware, Proxmox, KVM, or GCP Compute Engine.

Experience implementing or supporting backup, disaster recovery, and high-availability solutions.

Familiarity with ITIL practices (incident, problem, change management).
-
Knowledge of endpoint security tools, SIEM, and vulnerability management.

Communication skills in Spanish (bonus but not required).
-
Experience working in a scaling SaaS/Tech organization.

Ability to collaborate in cross-functional engineering teams (SRE, DevOps, Cloud Ops).
